Hi Friends and Family-
Josie's Place is participating in the SF Marathon 1K Mad Dash and 5K Fun Run on Saturday July 27th! Please support me as the Team Captain for our second annual fundraising run!
In memory of my parents, Jack & Elizabeth Schaeffer, I'll join Josie's Place children, families, friends and alumni as we run, walk, jog or maybe even dance in honor of our people who died. DONATE to support us! You are also welcome to run with us by joining our team, or just come say hi at our post race picnic at Tunnel Tops Park (Presidio Steps!)

As many of you know, I facilitate peer support groups twice a month for 9-12 year old children who are grieving the loss of a parent or loved one. Josie’s Place provides a safe, caring environment that supports San Francisco Bay Area children, teens, and their families who are grieving a death of a family member or friend. We support families through education, compassion and understanding as they integrate loss into their lives at their own pace. You can learn more at https://josiesplace.org/

Josie’s Place is based on the model created by the Dougy Center in Portland, OR. Josie's Place is a fiscally sponsored project of the Sunset Youth Services, which fosters long-term stability and growth for in-risk youth and families through caring relationships and supportive services.
