Hi there!
I'm participating in the SF Marathon (5K) this year to raise money for Josie's Place- a cause near and dear to my heart. I started volunteering with Josie's Place in 2021. Turning my own early loss experience into meaningful support for children who are facing their own losses brings me so much joy, centeredness, and meaning.
Josie’s Place provides a safe, caring environment that supports San Francisco Bay Area children, teens, and their families who are grieving a death of a parent, close family member or friend through peer to peer support groups. We help families through education, compassion and understanding as they integrate loss into their lives at their own pace. You can learn more at https://josiesplace.org/

Josie’s Place is based on the model created by the Dougy Center in Portland, OR. Josie's Place is a fiscally sponsored project of the Sunset Youth Services, which fosters long-term stability and growth for in-risk youth and families through caring relationships and supportive services.
